Both rustic and modern are adjectives that were used as we created these pieces. Clean lined cases with beveled, box mitered picture frame details are veneered with a herringbone pattern surrounding each bank of drawers to create subtle detail. Plinth bases are recessed to create a floating effect, rounding out the contemporary lines. This group is veneered with extra thick cut, cathedral white oak with flake for a natural organic vibe.
The finish employs significant hand ageing including wirebrushing, rocking, rasp and gouging to create the desired rustic effect. The upholstered beds feature Culp's Omari fabric. Constructed with an offset basket weave, this fabric consists of a polyester, rayon, and linen yarn blend. The plied slub yarns are used in both the warp and weft direction to create a subtle color contrast and add overall texture.
